Former KeyBank digital chief Jamie Warder joins Alliant Credit Union as CIO and business strategy lead
Alliant Credit Union has named Jamie Warder as its new chief information officer (CIO) and head of business strategy.
Assuming the position on 8 July, Warder has been tasked with overseeing the Chicago-headquartered credit union’s “member vision, business strategy and technology execution”.
The new CIO boasts a 20-year “distinctive career building national, digital, purpose-driven banking models”, according to CEO Dennis Devine.
He joins Alliant directly from KeyBank, where over a tenure spanning several years, he is noted for his leadership of the Ohio-based bank’s business banking and investment services, and its digital banking platform and brand, Laurel Road.
Warder’s career also extends to National City Bank and PNC Bank, USAA Bank, ING and Capital One, where he worked as EVP of retail and direct banking.
Before joining the banking industry in 2006, Warder served as an armour and cavalry officer in the US Army.
Founded in 1935, Alliant describes itself as “the nation’s only fully digital credit union”, and with over $20 billion in assets and around 800,000 members, is currently the largest credit union in Illinois.
Warder’s appointment coincides with a wave of recent CIO appointments sweeping across the fintech sector, including the London Stock Exchange Group’s appointment of Irfan Hussain, Jon Daplyn at New York-based independent prime broker Clear Street, and Greg Lanigan at Member Driven Technologies, who joined during a C-Suite reshuffle that has also introduced a new chief project officer.
