Boku names former NatWest exec Rob Whittick as new CFO
Boku, a mobile payment solutions provider headquartered in London and San Francisco, has appointed former NatWest Group exec Rob Whittick as its new CFO with immediate effect.
Founded in 2008, Boku boasts of serving some of the “world’s largest companies” such as Amazon, Netflix, Sony, Spotify, Meta Platforms, Google and Microsoft with localised payment solutions.
Boku claims its offerings, which include direct carrier billing, A2A/real-time payments and digital wallet services, provide connections to more than 7.5 billion consumer payment accounts in over 60 countries.
Commenting on the firm’s latest appointment, Boku’s CEO, Stuart Neal says that Whittick brings a “wealth of experience and knowledge, in particular financial and operational expertise from within a large and complex organisation, invaluable as we progress our own scaling journey”.
The majority of Whittick’s career has been spent at NatWest Group, where he worked for over 25 years. During his tenure at the bank, he held several senior leadership positions, including acting as the finance director for commercial and private banking from 2014 to 2019.
Most recently, he served for four years as the Group’s chief of staff. Among his accomplishments in this role, he established a new Digital Executive Hub, which facilitates both internal and external analysis of the company, according to his LinkedIn profile.
