TrueLayer names former Banked exec Lisa Scott as new chief strategy officer
Open banking payments network TrueLayer has named industry veteran Lisa Scott as its first chief strategy officer (CSO).
Scott has been tasked with managing the UK-based firm’s expansion into new markets, accelerating the adoption of its open banking offerings, and boosting consumer engagement.
Commenting on the appointment, TrueLayer co-founder and CTO, Luca Martinetti, says Scott’s “insights and leadership will be crucial as we continue to expand, explore new use cases and deepen customer engagement in the evolving financial landscape”.
Scott transitions to TrueLayer from California-based fintech Banked, where she initially served as the firm’s chief product and marketing officer before assuming the role of CEO for Europe.
Additionally, Scott has also worked for Lloyds TSB, as head of loyalty credit cards, and spent over a decade at payments giant PayPal, departing as senior director for product marketing.
Founded in 2016, TrueLayer promises businesses “smarter, safer and faster” online payments by integrating real-time bank payments with identity and financial data. The firm claims to serve 20 million users across 21 countries.
Scott’s hiring adds to TrueLayer’s appointment of former PayPal director Michael Brown as its new head of e-commerce last August.
