Abacus Group acquires Tribeca Technology Group to strengthen UK presence
Abacus Group, a global IT services and cybersecurity firm, has snapped up Tribeca Technology Group, a UK-based IT provider for the alternative investment sector, to “further strengthen its existing market presence and capabilities across the UK market”.
To achieve this, the two enterprises are to “pool their experience, diversify their portfolios and scale their offerings”. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2006, Tribeca complements Abacus’ expertise in the hedge fund and private equity sectors, particularly with its specialist experience in the UK private equity and asset management markets, according to the buyer.
Furthermore, Abacus anticipates that integrating the two firms will enable the expansion of its range of managed IT and digital security services. This includes offering its cybersecurity and compliance-focused abacusFlex solution to Tribeca’s current client base.
Tribeca joins Gotham Security as a subsidiary of Abacus, following the group’s acquisition of US cybersecurity firm and parent company, GoVanguard, in early 2023.
The strategic move sought to enhance the group’s cybersecurity offering by incorporating Gotham Security’s risk and compliance gap assessments, penetration testing, threat-hunting services, red teaming and tabletop exercises.
Looking to the future, Abacus hints it intends to “leverage its expanded capabilities and scale to pursue new growth opportunities in both domestic and global markets”.
