Globacap hires WealthKernel’s Brian Schwieger as new chairman
Private capital platform Globacap has appointed industry veteran Brian Schwieger as its new chairman.
As chairman, Schwieger will be expected to work in assisting the platform “to accelerate in its scaling journey”.
Commenting on the appointment, Myles Milston, Globacap’s co-founder and CEO, states: “We felt it was the right time to bring in an external chairman to bolster our board and provide advice and oversight to help drive the business forward.”
In addition, Milston asserts that Schwieger’s 30 years of capital markets and investment banking expertise will “prove a huge asset” and will ensure the company is “prepared for our next stage of growth”.
Before becoming a serial advisor and board member for numerous fintechs, Schwieger worked at the likes of Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), where he concluded his almost eight-year tenure as MD of global head of equities and co-head of ETF and fixed income trading.
Schwieger currently serves as the chair of the board and non-executive director of WealthKernel, a UK-based digital investment infrastructure firm, a position to which he was appointed last year.
Founded in 2017, Globacap aims to automate and digitise private capital markets worldwide. The firm offers financial institutions a white label Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that it claims “brings public markets-like efficiency to private markets”.
