BNI Madagascar assigns Temenos cloud core implementation to Orion Innovation
Antananarivo-headquartered banking and financial services corporation BNI Madagascar has tasked Orion Innovation with leading its implementation of Temenos’ cloud-based core banking platform.
The bank, which provides a range of retail, business and institutional services across all 23 regions in Madagascar, says it is currently engaged in a “digital modernisation journey” for its SME clients and retail customers.
To support this initiative, the bank is to leverage Temenos’ platform throughout its operations, product portfolio and pursuit of “personalised, digital-first banking solutions”, with the assistance of the Swiss banking vendor’s multi-regional delivery partner.
US-based Orion claims its digital services and technology solutions will “modernise legacy systems, design innovative products and tap into new business opportunities” for BNI Madagascar, while also facilitating “a unified banking experience across various touchpoints, spanning online banking, mobile banking and in-branch services”.
The digital transformation and product development services firm has previously implemented the platform for a range of Temenos clients, including Cebuana Lhuillier Bank in the Philippines and Africa and Gulf Bank in Sudan.
Alexandre Mey, CEO of BNI Madagascar, claims the implementation aids in “steering the digital revolution in Madagascar” under the bank’s ambition to cultivate a banking ecosystem that “not only meets the current market needs but also anticipates them”.
Thibault Huvelle, its head of digital, adds that the partnership with Orion seeks to ensure that “our solutions are advanced and tailored to the specific needs of the Malagasy market”.
