Arab National Bank in major upgrade of core banking system with Infosys Finacle
Saudi Arabia-based Arab National Bank (ANB) has upgraded its long-standing core banking solution, Infosys Finacle, to version 11x – “launching a new chapter in banking at Arab National Bank”, according to its chief information officer (CIO) Naif Alharbi.
Writing on LinkedIn, Alharbi describes the initiative as “a major leap forward”.
“This upgrade project represents the culmination of our strategic 21-month journey to future-proof our banking technology and improve customer satisfaction, with over 400 dedicated staff involved. Their hard work and perseverance have been key to achieving this milestone,” he says.
The highlights of the initiative include a “seamless migration of millions of records”, a “smooth transition from legacy systems that have been in place for over 14 years”, and a “rapid roll-out with minimal downtime”.
ANB is among the top ten largest banks in the Middle East. It has around 150 branches in Saudi Arabia and an international branch in London, UK, and caters to retail and business clients. It is also the bank partner of a new mobile banking app for kids and teens, Cashee. ANB’s major shareholder (40%) is Jordan’s Arab Bank.
Infosys Finacle has a long-standing presence in the region, with Al Ali Bank of Kuwait, Emirates NBD, Industrial Bank of Kuwait, and Zand Bank among its users.
