Luxembourg’s NowCM names Markus Sauerland as new COO and co-CEO
NowCM, a market infrastructure and issuance provider specialising in the primary debt capital markets, has appointed industry veteran Markus Sauerland as its new chief operating officer (COO) and co-CEO, effective 1 April 2024.
In his new roles, NowCM states Sauerland will be responsible for “all operational and business initiatives, steering growth and deepening client engagements”.
Commenting on Sauerland’s arrival, Robert Koller, NowCM founder and co-CEO, says the company is now ready to embark on a “new phase of growth, scaling our operations to align with those of our major clients”.
Bringing over three decades of global banking experience to his new company, Sauerland previously held the position of CEO and chairman of the management board at German investment bank Nomura Financial Products Europe.
In addition, Sauerland previously worked at Deutsche Bank between 1993 to 2012, where he held numerous leadership positions, including COO for Group Finance, chief financial officer (CFO) for Global Foreign Exchange, and Global CFO for Global Markets (Trading and Sales).
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Luxembourg, NowCM serves the primary debt capital markets, providing a cloud-native data solution which it claims is capable of “creating, negotiating, and managing debt”.
The firm also offers first-time and infrequent issuers access to primary markets through its Treasury-as-a-Service (TaaS) facility, regulated by the CSSF.
