US digital bank Green Dot hires Melissa Douros as new CPO
Former Discover Financial Services VP Melissa Douros has been named as the new chief product officer (CPO) of US digital bank Green Dot.
Green Dot says its latest hire will head product design and team development with a focus on building “useful tools” for its customers.
This remit is to extend across the Texas-based fintech’s consumer products and its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and embedded finance partner network.
Douros joins Green Dot directly from Discover Financial Services – which is on track to be acquired by Capital One as part of a $35.3 billion deal – where she founded its digital design product operations team as VP of digital product experience.
Douros has also previously served as senior director and head of digital product, design and research for indoor waterpark chain Great Wolf Resorts, and as senior director of digital product customer experience at Morgan Stanley’s electronic trading platform, e*Trade.
George Gresham, CEO of Green Dot, says Douros will be “instrumental in driving Green Dot forward as we continue building our platform”.
“Our team will benefit greatly from her ability to translate our product vision and strategy into meaningful solutions for our partners and customers,” he adds.
This latest leadership appointment comes just months after Dave Harden, who had been serving as SVP of product development since February 2022, was appointed to the role of chief technology officer (CTO) at Green Dot in November.
