Nick Parsons named new Calastone chief technology officer
Calastone, which claims to be the world’s largest global funds network, has announced its appointment of industry veteran Nick Parsons as the firm’s new chief technology officer (CTO).
Julien Hammerson, CEO of Calastone, says the new CTO will be pivotal in “leading our future technology strategy as we expand the business into new verticals and continue to support our clients through the next phase of automation”.
Parsons, who brings over 30 years of IT and asset management experience to the role, will be tasked with heading Calastone’s technology operations alongside its product strategy and development.
Before joining the London-headquartered firm, Parsons served as CTO at software developer DST International for over 12 years. Following this, he worked for Aussie IT services and consulting firm Bravura Solutions, where he ascended to the CEO position.
In addition to its CTO appointment, Calastone has hired a new chief architect, Adam Belding, to lead its Digital Investments programme and, according to Hammerson, perform a vital role “leading the funds industry into a new era, which will see tokenised investment vehicles become the standard”.
Calastone currently claims to cater to over 3,500 clients across 54 countries, while handling £250 billion of investment value monthly.
