Nationwide Building Society selects Auriga to modernise ATM software infrastructure
Nationwide has selected Italian omnichannel banking software and technology vendor Auriga to modernise its self-service ATM channel.
The building society will adopt a number of Auriga’s software solutions to run and manage its 1,200-strong ATM network across the UK.
These solutions include the three-tiered WWS client server, the WWS OTO OMNIA marketing solution, the WWS Proactive Monitoring OMNIA solution and the vendor’s cybersecurity suite, Lookwise Device Manager (LDM), which Auriga acquired through its 2020 takeover of Spanish security firm S21sec.
Together, these modules will enable Nationwide to market its products throughout its ATM network, increase availability and reduce downtime, and according to Auriga, “simplify the complexity of its legacy payments platform”.
Talking on the integration, Otto Benz, director of payments at Nationwide Building Society, claims the new tech will “enable us to develop and enhance how our ATM self-service banking channel complements Nationwide branch services”, adding these services are “vital for the communities they serve”.
“Our multi-vendor software platform gives Nationwide the freedom to review its future ATM fleet and evaluate the widest array of hardware providers to choose the best touchpoints for their members as well as customers from other banks,” adds Vincenzo Fiore, CEO of Auriga.
Nationwide may soon see its branch network increase through its proposed £2.9 billion acquisition of Virgin Money, announced last week, that will see it take control of the retail bank’s 91 UK branches. If the deal goes ahead, the building society says that it will not alter the presence of Virgin Money’s branches until 2026 at the earliest.
