GFT Technologies promotes Marco Santos to group CEO
IT services provider GFT Technologies has promoted its regional CEO, Marco Santos, to the role of group CEO, effective 1 July 2024.
Since joining GFT in 2011, Santos has held numerous leadership positions within the company. He began as the country manager of GFT Brazil and later assumed responsibility for overseeing the firm’s operations in Latin America.
More recently, Santos was elevated to the position of CEO of GFT Americas, where he has been responsible for operations across both North and Latin America.
Commenting on the announcement, Ulrich Dietz, chairman of the administrative board of GFT Technologies, claims that the group’s new CEO is “consistently among the first to use the potential of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, for the benefit of GFT and our clients”.
Santos will be replacing incumbent group CEO Marika Lulay, who is due to leave the company at the end of her contract on 31 December. Lulay has worked at GFT for over 20 years, with Dietz adding that the success of GFT’s international expansion was in large part thanks to her strategy and leadership.
In addition to Santos’ promotion, GFT has also announced that its current CFO, Jochen Reutz, will assume the role of deputy group CEO, effective 1 January 2025. Reutz, who has been with GFT since 2003, has also been granted an extended contract, which will remain in effect until 31 December 2029.
The two promotions follow the appointment of Ian Oswald, who was named as the company’s new executive director of strategy and offerings earlier this month.
