GFT Technologies names Ian Oswald as new executive director
IT services provider GFT Technologies has appointed Ian Oswald as its new executive director of strategy and offerings.
Joining GFT’s UK leadership team, industry veteran Oswald will work to enhance the firm’s product offerings for financial services and drive its client strategy.
Speaking on the fintech’s new executive director, Carlton Hopper, GFT’s UK MD, says Oswald’s “experience working in industry and consultancy for some of the UK’s biggest banks means he understands the digital challenges and opportunities facing the sector and our clients”.
Most recently, Oswald worked for UK-based professional services firm EY, where he was a partner in the company’s technology consulting team.
Earlier in his career, he joined IBM in 2005 where he served as a management consultant for five years. Following this, he was a director at PwC for three years before rejoining IBM as part of IBM iX, where he held the position of executive partner, industry platforms and fintech and later financial services partner.
Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, GFT offers software services covering business AI, digital finance and data, platform and mainframe modernisation.
Oswald’s hiring represents the second addition to GFT’s UK leadership team within the last six months, succeeding the appointment of Priya Lakshmi as the firm’s new chief revenue officer (CRO) in October.
In addition, 2024 has seen GFT make a major play in the core banking market, announcing its acquisition of Sophos Solutions in January.
