ClearBank promotes risk and compliance chief Emma Hagan to UK CEO
Embedded banking platform ClearBank has promoted its current chief risk and compliance officer, Emma Hagan, to the position of CEO of its UK business, subject to regulatory approval.
In assuming the newly established role, Hagan will be tasked with leading the platform’s operations in the country and strengthening its position within the market.
The company says Hagan’s appointment as UK CEO “is a vital component of ClearBank’s organisational changes to support international growth plans”.
“The structural shift will support an international model for the bank, as it moves towards realising its expansion plans across Europe, North America, and other markets,” the firm adds.
So far, these changes have included the appointment of former Barclays and Starling exec Megan Cooper as chief product officer in December, and former HSBC exec Paul Staples as group head of embedded banking in December.
With 15 years of industry experience, Hagan first joined ClearBank in June 2020, and had previously served as chief risk officer for Silicon Valley Bank’s EMEA operations following stints at Lloyds Bank and HBOS.
