Sopra Banking Software names ex-Fiserv exec Andrew Steadman as new CPO
Sopra Banking Software (SBS) has named Andrew Steadman, a former Temenos and Fiserv executive, as its new chief product officer (CPO).
The French fintech says its latest hire will head its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product strategy alongside “all business functions that contribute to product management and innovation”.
This remit is expected to see Steadman shift the firm’s architecture internally, including formulating new product methodologies and tooling, in an attempt to better align its provision of cloud-based products to market demand.
At present, the Paris-based fintech provides two distinct cloud-based platforms, the Sopra Banking platform and the Sopra Financing platform, which together enable the more than 1,500 financial institutions it currently claims to serve to digitise and automate functions across banking, lending, compliance, payments, and consumer and asset finance.
Steadman joins SBS directly from Swiss banking solutions vendor Temenos where, as senior product director, he claims to have led various product elements for its retail banking unit.
Before this, he also worked as a senior director analyst at research and advisory firm Gartner, after completing a 20-year tenure at Fiserv, where he most recently served as vice president of product management and marketing across the group globally.
Claiming that “the next chapter of banking and finance” is currently upon the industry, Steadman says it’s evident that “change is also on the horizon for [SBS] in order to transform with its customers”.
“It’s an exciting time to join the executive team as we drive forward this change and lay the foundation for the next era of digital business.”
Steadman joins the fintech’s chief operating officer, Tobias Unger, who was appointed to the position last month, among the most recent hires of SBS’s newly enlarged C-suite.
