Ozone API appoints former Virgin Money CEO Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia as new board chair
UK-based open banking tech provider Ozone API has appointed Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia as its new board chair.
Gadhia has extensive leadership experience gained from some of the UK’s biggest financial institutions. For over 10 years she was the CEO of Virgin Money, during which time she led the company’s acquisition and successful integration of Northern Rock and the launch of Virgin Money’s current account offering.
Additionally, Gadhia has served as CEO at tech giant Salesforce, chairs Moneyfarm’s board, and recently launched her own fintech, Snoop, where she acted as chair for four years before transitioning into a senior advisor position after the firm’s acquisition by the Vanquis Banking Group in July 2023.
Huw Davies, Ozone API’s co-founder and co-CEO, states Gadhia’s “unparalleled expertise and vision will offer huge benefit to Ozone API at this pivotal point in our journey”, claiming the fintech is now ideally positioned to expedite its planned expansion.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, Ozone API offers a standards-based open API platform built to help financial institutions quickly and easily tap into and monetise open banking through the implementation of open APIs.
The fintech says its founding team “led the creation of the UK open banking standard” and “delivered the sandbox for the Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE)”.
The news of Ozone API’s new chair comes hot on the heels of its £8.5 million Series A funding round, led by Gresham House Ventures, geared towards powering the firm’s global expansion strategy.
