Former head of Visa Direct Ruben Salazar Genovez appointed new TerraPay president
UK-based cross-border payments firm TerraPay has announced the appointment of former head of Visa Direct, Ruben Salazar Genovez, as its new president.
TerraPay’s board of directors claims its latest appointment will play a key role in propelling its “ambitious global expansion plans”.
With this, the new president will be responsible for the development of the fintech’s non-card network features and payments infrastructure.
Salazar Genovez’s executive experience to dates spans the likes of Barclays, Citibank, Mastercard, and most recently served as the global head of Visa Direct for over 10 years.
Commenting on his appointment Salazar Genovez says: “With a strong foundation in place, I am confident that we can accelerate our global expansion and develop new, innovative solutions that will shape the future of the payments landscape.”
Founded in 2014, TerraPay claims to enable enhanced financial inclusion via its B2B payments platform, boosting businesses’ customer offerings for cross-border expenditures, remittances and payments.
Co-founder and chief business officer of TerraPay, Ani Sane, states that Salazar Genovez’s “servant leadership approach and client-centric perspective” will aid the fintech in expediting its commercial endeavours and cultivating strategic partnerships.
The news of the company’s new president follows its recent landing of an Italian EMI licence and $100 million debt and equity raise.
