Griffin begins hunt for new COO with Maria Campbell set to depart
UK-based Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider and licenced bank Griffin is on the hunt for a new chief operating officer (COO) following the announcement that Maria Campbell is set to depart the firm this quarter.
Campbell ascended to the position of COO at Griffin in June 2022 having previously fulfilled the position of vice president of people since March 2021, when she initially joined the company.
A Griffin spokesperson says that Campbell intends to take “some personal time out” before finalising her next career move, and that the company has instigated “a seamless transition plan” in the wake of her imminent departure.
The company has set up a job listing for the role, in which it says it is particularly interested in candidates with experience in “scaling operations in technology-driven companies” and “operational payments and cash management”.
Griffin plans to task the successful applicant with leading its internal operations, vendor management infrastructure and operational resilience framework.
Speaking to FinTech Futures, David Jarvis, CEO of Griffin, describes Campbell as “a key driver of Griffin’s success over the past three years”, citing her as “instrumental” in its pursuit of a banking licence, which it secured in March last year.
Commenting on her departure, Campbell says it has “been such a joy to be part of the Griffin journey”, adding she will be “cheering from the sidelines” as the company looks to continue its growth.
