Former Starling Bank exec Helen Bierton to lead everyday banking for Lloyds
Former Starling Bank executive Helen Bierton has joined Lloyds Banking Group as director of everyday banking.
Revealing her latest appointment via LinkedIn this week, Bierton says she is “really looking forward to working with my new colleagues across the group, and to working together to continue Helping Britain Prosper”.
In her new position, she will head the group’s everyday banking services across all of its divisions, including its provision of current and savings accounts.
Bierton joins the group from Starling Bank, having initially been appointed by the UK challenger in 2018 as head of banking, before being promoted to chief banking officer the following year.
Through this latter position, she was responsible for overseeing the bank’s product and partnership developments, as well as its third-party product marketplace and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering, among other areas.
Her efforts were also noted during the bank’s partnership with the British Olympic Association in 2020 for the Tokyo Summer Olympics, given that she previously represented Great Britain in archery at the Athens Summer Olympics in 2004.
Prior to this, she held several high-profile positions at incumbent bank Santander during a nine-year tenure, during which she served as director of products, focusing on providing financial services for SMEs.
