Bread Financial names former Amex CIO Allegra Driscoll as new CTO
US-based fintech Bread Financial, formerly Alliance Data, has named Allegra Driscoll as its new executive vice president (EVP) and chief technology officer (CTO).
Driscoll says she will work with the team to “advance enterprise technology priorities” as the fintech looks to grow its private-label credit card offering and payment, lending and saving solutions for e-commerce merchants.
She joins directly from American Express where, most recently, she led its global commercial services unit as senior vice president (SVP) and chief information officer (CIO).
Prior to joining American Express in 2020, Driscoll also worked for Goldman Sachs for nine years, predominantly within its securities division, before later moving to Credit Suisse, where she held various managing director positions across both product and engineering functions during another nine-year tenure.
Ralph Andretta, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Bread Financial, describes Driscoll’s experience in financial services as “invaluable” to its pursuit of technology-driven innovation and modernisation.
Andretta says that Driscoll will work to “ensure technology is a driver of business objectives and that enterprise IT risk management, governance and oversight remain a top priority”.
