US neobank Chime appoints Shara Chang as chief compliance officer
San Francisco-based neobank Chime has appointed Shara Chang as its new chief compliance officer.
Chang brings 15 years of financial services, fintech and consumer protection experience to her new role. Throughout her career, she has advised banks and high-growth companies on regulatory compliance, risk management and product development.
She joins Chime from proptech firm Divvy Homes, where she served as chief legal officer for more than a year, overseeing legal, compliance and HR functions. Prior to that, she was general counsel and chief compliance officer at Peach Finance, associate general counsel for privacy and product at Meta, and first product counsel at fintech Affirm.
In her new role, Chang has been tasked with regulatory compliance for the company and “earn, maintain and build trust” with Chime members, banking partners and regulators, reporting to Chime’s general counsel, Adam Frankel.
Commenting on her appointment, Chang says she looks forward to helping the team “drive innovation while thoughtfully mitigating risk” and strengthening the neobank’s compliance.
