US fintech Brex names Karandeep Anand as its first president
US-based expense management platform Brex has appointed its chief product officer Karandeep Anand as its first president.
Anand first joined Brex in January 2022 and helped the company develop and launch its flagship AI product, Brex Assistant.
He brings more than two decades of experience in B2B product development at technology firms, having worked at Facebook for more than six years in several senior roles, most latterly as vice president, head of business products.
Anand began his career at Microsoft as an intern in India, and spent 15 years with the tech giant, rising to the ranks of partner, director and ultimately serving as head of product management, based out of Seattle, USA.
Commenting on his new role, Anand says: “My biggest priority is to maximise the synergies between the teams who build our products and the teams that bring our products to customers.”
He adds that he aims to “strengthen the ties” between the firm and its customers and “create a stronger feedback loop between our customers, our customer-facing teams, and our product-building teams”.
Founded over five years ago, Brex, which announced staff cuts last year and also stopped serving traditional small businesses, now claims to have seen more than 300% growth in software revenue year-to-date and onboarded more than 20,000 customers.
