Kentucky-based credit union Park Community names Jana Erny as president and CEO
Jana Erny has been named as the new president and CEO of the Kentucky-based credit union Park Community.
Erny is to succeed outgoing president and CEO Jim Spradlin, who is retiring after 29 years at the credit union and 13 years at the helm, effective 4 December 2023.
She joins Park Community from Idaho-based Potlatch No.1 Federal Credit Union (P1FCU), which serves members of the forestry and real estate company Potlatch Corporation and where Erny held the position of chief marketing and experience officer (CMXO).
Her professional experience also extends to AmericanWest Bank, Washington Trust Bank and Numerica Credit Union, where she served as SVP of retail experience, lending and operations.
In the credit union’s search for Spradlin’s successor, a process it claims garnered 500 applications, board chair Bobby Willoughby says Erny “stood out” to Park Community for her “passion for the credit union movement”.
“She brings noted experience and a wealth of knowledge to our organisation.”
After her appointment comes into effect next month, Erny says that she plans to “build strong partnerships in the communities we serve” – namely Kentucky and Southern Indiana – and extend its “people-first” culture.
Founded in 1965 and based in Louisville, Park Community is designated to serve low-income communities with personal and business banking, loan and auto financing services. It claims to have over 77,000 members and $1.36 billion in assets.
