Puerto Rico’s Arival Bank names Nishi Gupta as chief compliance officer and general counsel
Arival Bank, a digital bank licenced and regulated in Puerto Rico, has appointed Nishi Gupta as its chief compliance officer and general counsel.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Gupta joined Arival Bank in July, moving over from Eco, a US-based consumer fintech company enabling people to manage their finances, where he served as head of compliance from December 2020 to June 2023.
Prior to that, he worked at American Express for over 10 years as vice president of global financial crimes compliance, leading teams in other financial crime compliance areas such as sanctions, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC).
Gupta’s earlier experience also extends to serving as in-house counsel for Take-Two Interactive Software, and assisting for three years at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, advising on white collar crime and terrorism financing investigations.
Founded in 2018, Arival Bank provides digital banking services to businesses through its platform, allowing them to open USD and multi-currency bank accounts online, with the ability to make international payments and manage finances on one platform.
In January, Arival Bank appointed Bill Papp as chief revenue officer, where he is responsible for growing the bank’s client portfolio, sales strategy and business development team.
