Brian Cole joins ClearScore as group chief financial officer
The ClearScore Group has appointed Brian Cole as its new group chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.
Cole brings more than 25 years of financial services experience to his new role and previously worked at payments giant Visa, where he served as head of product North America from April 2018 to July 2022. Prior to that, he was CEO of Barclaycard UK for two years, heading up the company’s UK consumer card business.
His career also includes a 16-year stint at Capital One where he held various senior roles, including serving as CFO and later CEO and senior vice president of the firm’s UK division.
The ClearScore Group says that Cole’s experience sets the company up for “continued diversification and growth on an international scale”.
Commenting on Cole’s appointment, Justin Basini, group CEO and co-founder, says: “He has a strong track record in international leadership, delivering robust financial results in scaled and scaling businesses where driving growth and operational leverage are critical.”
Founded in the UK in 2015 predominately as a credit score app, The ClearScore Group has expanded over the years and now operates online marketplaces relating to financial services and an open banking services business.
It currently claims to serve over 20 million users across the UK, South Africa, Australia, Canada and New Zealand and partners with more than 150 financial institutions globally.
