Fujitsu launches joint trials with Hokuhoku Financial Group to explore generative AI use cases
Japan’s Fujitsu and Hokuhoku Financial Group have launched joint trials to explore new use cases for generative AI in banking operations.
The trials are currently being held with two subsidiaries of Hokuhoku Financial Group – Hokuriku Bank and Hokkaido Bank – and will see the firms leveraging technology such as Fujitsu’s conversational AI offering via its Fujitsu Kozuchi AI Platform.
In the trials, generative AI will be incorporated into the banking operations of both the subsidiary banks and will be used to create programmes, test data and fix bugs, respond to internal inquiries about business and regulations and generate and check various business documents.
Following the trials, which will take place without the need for a separate testing environment, both the banks hope to identify “promising” use cases to ensure “efficient and accurate” application of the new technology within their operations.
The joint trials have been running since August, with plans to conclude in October.
