US fintech Stash names Chien-Liang Chou as new CTO
Stash, the US-based investing and banking app, has appointed Chien-Liang Chou as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Chou is the second C-level executive hired by new CEO Liza Landsman this year following the appointment of Shannon Allmon as chief experience officer in March. Landsman herself was appointed as the company’s new chief exec in February following stints at Jet.com, Citigroup and BlackRock.
Chou brings more than 20 years of technology industry experience to his new role. He joins Stash from banking app start-up Dave, where he worked for over two years as CTO.
Prior to that, he served as VP of engineering at freight start-up Flexport for nearly three years, and VP of technology at peer-to-peer online marketplace LendingClub. He has also held leadership roles at Stockpile, Loyal3 and SalesForce.
At Stash, Chou’s responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s technology operations with the goal of accelerating company initiatives and scaling the team, processes and tech development.
In the past year, Stash launched its own banking infrastructure, Stash Core, and claims the offering has allowed it to exceed 70% in gross margin as its moves towards profitability.
