The Clearing House (TCH) has appointed Sheffali Welch as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Welch brings more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services to her new role, joining in from BNY Mellon, where she served as COO of finance, from February 2021 to August 2023.
Her previous experience includes eight years at Deutsche Bank, where she served in various senior capacities, including as managing director and COO, wealth management Americas, and as COO and head of strategy, transaction banking, Americas.
She has also worked at Citi for over eight years, most latterly as the head of global strategy for its private banking division.
In a LinkedIn post, Welch writes about her appointment: “I am very excited to start the next chapter of my career as the chief operating officer of The Clearing House. TCH is 170 years young and provides the payment rails that we rely on every day. It is an honour to be a part of this storied institution.”
In January, TCH appointed David Watson as its new CEO, succeeding Jim Aramanda, who retired earlier this year.
