Klarpay names Markus Emödi as new chief legal and compliance officer and deputy CEO
Swiss paytech Klarpay has appointed Markus Emödi as its new chief legal and compliance officer and deputy CEO.
A legal professional with more than 20 years of experience in compliance and risk management within the financial sector, Emödi joins Klarpay from CIC, the fourth largest banking group in France, where he served as general counsel.
Prior to that, he worked for over 10 years at Switzerland-based Migros Bank, most recently as head of legal services and compliance. His earlier experience also includes compliance-based roles at banking giants Citibank and Credit Suisse.
In his new role, Emödi has been tasked with driving Klarpay’s operations and facilitating its growth trajectory, with responsibilities including overseeing and enhancing the company’s legal and compliance functions.
Klarpay says Emödi’s knowledge of regulatory areas including anti-money laundering (AML), securities law, asset management and payment transactions makes him an “invaluable asset” for the company.
Martynas Bieliauskas, CEO of Klarpay AG, says Emödi’s experience in legal and compliance will be “instrumental in strengthening our company’s position and supporting our strategic goals”.
“Markus’s expertise will contribute to our ongoing commitment to providing secure and scalable payment solutions to our clients,” Bieliauskas adds.
