Core banking tech provider Mambu names Fernando Zandona as permanent CEO
Core banking technology vendor Mambu has named Fernando Zandona as its permanent CEO.
Zandona had been serving as the company’s interim CEO since the beginning of June this year after Eugene Danilkis, co-founder and CEO of Mambu, stepped down from his role due to personal reasons.
Described as a “proven technology and product leader”, Zandona brings more than two decades of experience to his new role. He joined Mambu in June 2022 as chief product and technology officer. Prior to that, he worked for over seven years at Amazon Web Services in several senior engineering and product roles, most latterly as general manager of AWS Fargate and Amazon Linux, where he was responsible for product strategy.
Zandona also previously spent more than 11 years at Microsoft, where he worked as senior program manager.
As permanent CEO of Mambu, he will be tasked with leading the company through the next phase of its growth.
Fritz Oidtmann, chairman of the Mambu board, believes the company has found the “right person to take the business forward on a permanent basis”.
“During his time as interim CEO, Fernando has demonstrated deep industry and technical expertise, combined with a natural aptitude for leadership,” Oidtmann comments.
“His in-depth understanding of cloud technology, experience working in customer-centric businesses, and track record of developing high-performance teams focused on innovation are a natural fit with Mambu.”
