Cambodia’s Wing Bank selects Ipification for mobile ID verification solution
Cambodia’s Wing Bank has partnered with Hong Kong-based tech provider Ipification to deploy its one-click phone verification solution for its mobile banking customers.
Founded in 2008, Wing Bank pioneered mobile financial services in Cambodia and currently claims to serve customers all over the country with “100% coverage” across all districts. Its services include loans, deposits, micro-savings, money transfers, utility and insurance payments, supply chain payments, payroll services and phone top-ups.
It also offers retail payments via WingPay and operates two e-commerce platforms for businesses and customers.
Ipification says that by deploying its one-click mobile identity solution, Wing Bank’s customers can now register, verify their phone numbers and log in to their mobile banking apps “within milliseconds”. Wing Bank will replace its current SMS-based one-time password (OTP) system with the new solution.
“Our primary priorities in digital banking are convenience and security, and Ipification will let us streamline the authentication process for Wing Bank app users while retaining the app’s security,” says Han Peng Kwan, CEO of Wing Bank.
The bank adds that the new solution will improve security and customer experience for new users of the app while shortening the time needed to register, which the company hopes will lead to increased user acquisition rates.
