James Dixon named as new Allied Payment Network CISO
Allied Payment Network, a US-based payments solutions provider to community-based financial services organisations such as banks and credit unions, has appointed James Dixon as chief information security officer (CISO).
In his new position of CISO, which he began in June, Dixon says he intends to “ensure fast and secure payments” and will “continue to push the boundaries of what is possible for today’s payments solutions” while bolstering its information security practices.
Dixon joins Allied from the Canadian fintech Versapay, where he served as CISO until April of this year. Prior to this, he held several executive and senior leadership positions with various payment technology companies, including 2Checkout (now Verifone), Vesta Corporation, Official Payments (now ACI Payments) and InComm Payments.
With this, he brings more than 25 years of technology and industry experience to his new position at Allied, including his accreditation as a certified information systems security professional (CISSP).
Ensuring total data protection
His appointment signals Allied’s latest attempt to enhance risk mitigation, a significant piece of its “vision for universal payments”.
In the last year, the company has added around 50 new financial institution clients, bringing its total client base to nearly 500 financial institutions across 49 states with a combined total of over $310 billion in assets.
Having appointed Kathi Klawitter to the position of chief operating officer (COO) in January, Allied continues to evolve its brand image and the capabilities of its team.
CEO Geoff Knapp describes Dixon as “an accomplished leader with extensive expertise in cyber- and information security”.
For Knapp, this specific expertise will prove to be “instrumental in strengthening our company’s security posture and safeguarding our solutions” as it seeks to streamline its navigation of the ever-evolving threat landscape and ensure total data protection.
