Episode Six names former HSBC exec as new chief revenue officer
Former HSBC executive Brian Muse-McKenney has been appointed to the position of chief revenue officer (CRO) at Episode Six.
Muse-McKenney will look to apply his years of experience in the payments industry, alongside his regional expertise in Asia, Europe and North America, to expand the US payment technology provider’s global presence and customer base. As part of this, he will also work to enhance E6’s digital and marketing strategy.
Prior to joining the company, he spent 10 years at banking giant HSBC, most recently serving as chief business officer for HSBC Platforms and previously as chief executive of PayMe from HSBC.
Alongside this, Muse-McKenney has been a non-executive director of E6 since June 2020 after HSBC led the company’s Series A investment round. It was around this time that Muse-McKenney first partnered with E6 to lead the commercial success of PayMe’s e-wallet provision in Hong Kong.
Speaking on the appointment, E6’s CEO and co-founder, John Mitchell, expects Muse-McKenney’s “global experience”, “in-depth knowledge of our business” and “deep understanding of the challenges that banks and companies face in the payments space” to assist the company in its expansion efforts.
Adding to this, Muse-McKenney describes payment modernisation and the need to create “compelling customer propositions” as “pressing needs” for the banking and fintech industry.
E6’s latest appointment closely follows its May 2023 Series C funding round, which saw the firm raise $48 million and brought the total amount raised by the US fintech to close to $100 million.
