Demystify Podcast: Payments, the planet & equality with Monika Liikamaa, co-founder of Enfuce
This week, we have an extraordinary Demystify podcast recorded in Amsterdam at the recent Money20/20 Europe conference… in a sauna! Lou Carlozo joins Dave Wallace as guest host, and they chat with Monika Liikamaa, co-founder and co-CEO of Finnish payments company Enfuce.
Monika tells us her story and what led her to set up Enfuce with co-founder Denise Johansson. We hear why Finland and the Nordics are hotbeds of innovation before she helps demystify why and how the payments industry can help with the climate agenda.
She then takes us through the payments sector more generally and gives us a great example of how payments can make a tangible difference to those that need access to finance: Enfuce worked with Visa last year to help Ukrainian refugees arriving in Paris get payment cards so they were able to buy the things that they need.
Finally, Monika discusses being a female founder and why she believes equality is critical to the planet’s future.
Something to be aware of: Monika is very straight talking, and there is the odd bit of “fruity” language. If you are easily offended, you may need to do what Dave’s grandmother did when she read books with rude words and mentally skip over them!
