Visa names Chris Suh as new chief financial officer
Payments giant Visa has appointed Chris Suh as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Suh replaces longstanding Visa CFO Vasant Prabhu, who is set to retire on 30 September. Suh will serve as CFO designate from 10 July to 1 August, after which he will assume full responsibility for the role, with Prabhu assisting with the transition until his departure.
With over three decades of work experience, Suh joins Visa from Electronic Arts (EA), where he was CFO for just over a year. Prior to that, he spent over 25 years working at tech giant Microsoft in several leadership roles, including as corporate vice president and CFO of its cloud and AI division. In that role, he oversaw the growth and transformation of the Azure and Dynamics businesses.
At Visa, Suh will report to Visa CEO Ryan McInerney and sit on its global leadership team. He will be responsible for Visa’s financial strategies, planning and reporting, along with all finance operations and investor relations.
Commenting on Suh’s appointment, McInerney says: “His deep experience in finance and technology, plus his leadership in growing and scaling businesses, will be extraordinarily valuable to us as we continue to drive growth and better serve our clients around the world.”
On Prabhu’s departure, McInerney adds: “We are grateful to Vasant for his outstanding strategic and financial leadership over the past eight years. He has had a remarkable career, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter.”
