US paytech CardFlight appoints new CTO, Brian Butts
CardFlight, a US-based point-of-sale (POS) solutions provider, has appointed Brian Butts as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
He brings more than two decades of cloud technology experience and moves from Revel Systems, a fellow POS software provider to retailers and restaurants in the US, where he spent five years as vice president of development and cloud operations.
This is Butts’ sixth time serving in a leadership role within growth-stage companies spanning industries including payments, communications, and entertainment. He has previously held roles at firms including Northplains, Scientia Solutions, KSE, and Reignmaker Communications (acquired by Cypress Communications).
“I am excited to be a part of the CardFlight mission to make payments simple for small business merchants,” he says.
“The company’s commitment to innovation combined with its strong culture of collaboration are what attracted me to this role.”
CardFlight says it has significantly expanded its engineering team over the past year and its hiring spree is continuing. It is a full-remote company with employees working across the US.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in New York City with operations in Lincoln, Nebraska, CardFlight’s flagship offering is SwipeSimple, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) payments acceptance solution used by 125,000+ small businesses nationwide. The vendor claims that ten of the top 30 merchant acquirers in the US recommend SwipeSimple “because the product is easy for businesses to use”.
