UK budgeting app HyperJar names Louise Chan as COO
UK-based personal finance app HyperJar has named Louise Chan as its new chief operating officer (COO). Incumbent COO Chris Lowrie will be moving up to head the firm’s new B2B offering, HyperLayer.
Chan joins HyperJar from international paytech firm Ebury, where she also served as COO. Prior to that, she was head of innovation, delivery and capability development at HSBC, and has also held senior roles at Barclays and Barclaycard.
She brings more than 25 years of work experience to her new role, with expertise in banking, operational management, digital transformation, customer experience and product development.
Commenting on her new role, Chan says she has specialised in innovative platform solutions for several years, and at HyperJar, will be “playing my part as we drive for rapid domestic and global expansion”.
Chan is HyperJar’s fourth C-suite hire in the last 10 months, as the company prepares for “significant growth” across its B2B and B2C businesses.
Founded in 2018 in London, HyperJar launched its app in October 2020, which allows people to partition, budget, and manage their money, as well as avail merchant rewards and discounts. It claims over 500,000 customers and over 100 merchant partners on its app.
The company is launching HyperLayer, a B2B2C offering providing digital wallet capabilities to companies globally, who want to offer spending money services to their customers.
