Canada’s Interac appoints Jeremy Wilmot as new CEO
Canadian paytech firm Interac has appointed Jeremy Wilmot as its new CEO, president and director of the board, effective 1 August 2023.
Wilmot succeeds Mark O’Connell, who will support the transition in an advisory capacity until his retirement on 31 October 2023.
With a career spanning 30 years and five continents, Wilmot joins Interac from global paytech ACI Worldwide, where he spent more than 23 years. He was most recently chief product officer at the company, having previously served as group president and chief marketing and revenue officer.
Prior to ACI, Wilmot began his career at tech firm ICL, now Fujitsu Services Europe, where he held senior marketing and sales positions for nearly a decade.
Paul Vessey, Interac board chair, says Wilmot is a “seasoned leader” and his “deep experience will serve the company well as it embarks on its next phase of growth”.
Founded in 1984, Toronto-headquartered Interac provides payments and exchange services, helping Canadians access, spend and send funds whenever and from wherever they choose. Interac is connected to nearly 300 financial institutions and also provides payment ID experiences to ensure “safe and secure” transactions.
