Airbnb taps Stripe to enable bank payments for US customers
Online holiday rental marketplace Airbnb has partnered with Stripe to offer bank payments to Airbnb guests.
With the latest partnership, Airbnb guests will be able to link their bank accounts on the Airbnb app using Stripe Financial Connections.
Once bank details are saved, guests will be able to use Link, Stripe’s one-click checkout offering, to quickly make bank payments for all future bookings, without having to re-enter bank details each time they make a fresh booking.
Stripe says with Link, Airbnb guests can check out faster using bank details saved from previous purchases at any Link-enabled business.
The feature will be available for customers with a US bank account, with both firms not mentioning if there will be a wider rollout for global customers.
The news follows Stripe’s recent spree of payment partnerships with notable tech companies including the likes of messaging giant WhatsApp, ride-hailing app Uber, and US tech giant Microsoft.
