Navan acquires Indian travel expense management firm Tripeur
US-based travel and expense management app Navan (formerly TripActions) has agreed to acquire rival Indian firm Tripeur for an undisclosed sum.
The agreement marks Navan’s fifth acquisition in the last two years as the company looks to continue a purchasing spree which has also included deals for European travel management companies Comtravo and Resia.
Founded in 2015 and based in Bengaluru, Tripeur’s platform enables businesses to manage the entire travel booking and expense process and utilises artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms to drive personalisation, ease of use and transparency for its customers.
The acquisition will enable Navan to solve local logistical challenges including providing direct connections to low-cost carriers, automated GST reconciliation for employee expenses, access to atypical inventory such as booked taxis, Indian railway bookings and local support such as visa facilitation.
Thiagarajan Rajagopalan, Tripeur co-founder and CEO, says there is “unprecedented demand” for corporate travel solutions in India, adding Navan’s scalability combined with Tripeur’s “localised technology, inventory and support” will boost the company’s product offering in the region.
