ICYMI fintech funding round-up: Floodlight, Fractal and more

UK-based fintech start-up Floodlight has bagged $6.4 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Aleph, and 83 North, with contributions from angel investors.
Founded in 2021, Floodlight offers e-commerce SMEs a “smart” business account that connects all their financial platforms into one single dashboard to better manage their finances.
The solution also brings financial insights to firms in the form of reports on cashflow trends and relevant data.
Customers can also use Floodlight’s Mastercard debit cards and get access to financial coaching tools.
Fractal, a Swiss digital assets infrastructure provider, has secured $6 million in seed funding led by Hack VC.
Also taking part in the round were 6th Man Ventures (6MV), Archetype Ventures, Avalanche Ecosystem Fund Blizzard, Circle Ventures, CMT Digital, CoinShares, GoldenTree Asset Management, QCP Capital, Spartan Group, as well as a number of angel investors.
Fractal will use the funding to expand its institutional product offerings to facilitate capital efficiency, transparency, and provide a simplified user experience. The company recently launched in beta, and allows institutions to clear, settle and margin digital asset trades “on-chain”.
Aussie open banking paytech Waave has raised $4.7 million in a seed round from angel investors.
Headquartered in Sydney, Waave offers Pay by Bank payment service in the country and claims to operate with every Australian bank.
With the seed funding, Waave plans on offering its services to online and in-store e-commerce customers by June, according to StartupDaily.
US-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform Fivvy has received $4 million in funding from Globant Ventures.
Fivvy helps banks leverage their financial data to offer an enhanced customer experience through a streamlined implementation process in three months.
Through the investment, Fivvy says it will gain “not only financial resources but also invaluable expertise in leveraging new and emerging technologies” to drive the industry forward.
Canadian fintech firm Nuvei has received an undisclosed sum of funding from Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds.
Nuvei provides payments services to e-commerce businesses, with card acquiring services in more than 200 markets, including direct local acquiring in over 47 countries, as well as access to more than 600 alternative payment methods.
