Travel BNPL fintech Fly Now Pay Later hires Georgios Gionis as CPO
Buy now, pay later (BNPL) travel financing fintech Fly Now Pay Later (FNPL) has appointed former American Express product head Georgios Gionis as chief product officer (CPO).
Gionis brings more than 15 years’ worth of experience to the role, having worked across product management and research and development (R&D) within fintech and financial services.
Gionis has held product management roles at OpenBet, Barclays and most recently at American Express as director of product management, and has experience building and developing product teams and creating digital products that can scale across several markets and jurisdictions.
AT FNPL, Gionis will be tasked with expanding the product offering at the firm, building out the R&D arm of FNPL.
Jasper Dykes, CEO and founder of Fly Now Pay Later, says Gionis is joining at a “crucial point” for the firm, as it looks to expand its product offering with its partners.
“Since launch, our focus has always been on building a best-in-class product around our audience and their purchasing habits, seeing demand and customer loyalty solidify in the process,” Dykes says.
FNPL allows customers to spread the cost of a trip over up to 12 monthly instalments via travel agents ranging from mid-sized firms to leading operators like Malaysia Airlines, TravelUp, HotelsOne, Air Serbia and Azores Airlines.
In January, FNPL secured a $75 million debt funding package from Atalaya Capital to finance the UK fintech’s expansion into the United States, the world’s largest travel market.
