HealRWorld set to launch first UN SDG-focused corporate debit card
ESG-focused fintech firm HealRWorld has unveiled its new corporate debit card in partnership with Mastercard designed to reward sustainable businesses and promote their commitment to the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The “first of its kind” debit card, also built in collaboration with Railsr, Toqio and Penrose Digital, is powered by its proprietary sustainability data on small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Cardholders will have access to digital banking capabilities including multi-currency accounts, domestic and international payments and an expense app.
Through the app, users will also be able to access HealRWorld’s SDG self-reporting tool so that small businesses can learn more and report on their support of one or more of the SDGs.
Additionally, the app will also allow customers to monitor spending and access carbon footprint data about purchases using the “Priceless Planet Carbon Calculator” feature.
“We believe your everyday spend can be a vote for the kind of world you wish to see, and we hope our new product will enable merchants to further their sustainability goals and join the community of businesses globally committed to achieving the UN SDGs by 2030,” says Michele Bongiovanni, founder and CEO of HealRWorld.
“We want to empower companies and consumers to purchase with the knowledge that they are taking a constructive step towards making the world a better place for our environment and people,” she adds.
Railsr is providing HealRWorld with the necessary payment tools and will enable debit cards and payment accounts to be linked to Mastercard’s Priceless Planet proposition. This will allow users to give back to the planet by contributing towards planting a tree with each purchase.
Toqio has provided its white-label Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform to launch the debit card, while Penrose Digital will act as programme manager for the HealRWorld initiative.
