Finbourne Technology hires Robert Byrne as CTO
Investment data management platform Finbourne Technology has hired Robert Byrne as its new chief technology officer (CTO), as the company looks to expand its global client base.
The appointment of the financial services veteran follows the company’s recent expansion into North America and Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Finbourne says Byrne brings a “wealth of knowledge and expertise in data management”, having worked at Barclays Capital, Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS Delta.
The company hopes Byrne’s experience in market and trade data transparency and reducing operational inefficiencies will support its aims of lowering the cost of investing and increasing transparency across the industry.
Byrne will be heading up a team of developers and domain experts from across the UK, North America and APAC tasked with building out the company’s Software-as-a-Service offering and Application Programming Interface-led (API) data tools.
Finbourne’s new CTO says, returning to the world of fintech at Finbourne, he will be working on “evolving the company’s interoperable data stack, fixing inherent data struggles and providing a future-proof solution”.
Finbourne’s cloud-native, API-first investment data management platform LUSID aims to “unlock digital data management capabilities across firms and become the backbone of the global investment community”.
