New chief information security officer at Blackhawk Network
Paytech heavyweight Blackhawk Network has hired veteran information security executive Selim Aissi as its chief information security officer (CISO).
Aissi brings more than 20 years of experience in the technology and financial industries. Most recently, he was senior vice president and chief security officer at ICE Mortgage Technology (previously known as Ellie Mae).
Prior to ICE Mortgage Technology, Aissi served as vice president of global information security at Visa. During his tenure, Aissi was recognised for leading companywide security initiatives including Visa’s APAC data centre and Visa’s data protection programmes.
“Blackhawk’s focus on the future of emerging payments is what drew me to the exciting potential of this company,” Aissi comments on his appointment.
Blackhawk delivers branded payment solutions to its network through prepaid products and technologies.
Aissi has a PhD engineering degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He holds over 100 US and global security-related patents for the productisation of security products and innovation of financial solutions for products, services, consumers, and firms globally.
Aissi has served as a board member for several start-ups, venture capital firms, and security institutions, including FS-ISAC MRC, the State of California’s Cybersecurity Task Force, the National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC), UC Berkeley’s CISO Institute, and the Bay Area CISO Executive Governing Body.
