Fintech start-up destream to launch bank card aimed at internet content creators
Fintech start-up destream is launching a bank card for streamers and internet content creators.
The tipping platform says creators who receive donations via different social media platforms will be able to manage these payments with the new debit card.
Content creators will be able to receive donations in any currency, including cryptocurrency, and through multiple payment methods. Cardholders can also get up to 30% cashback to their destream account.
Destream says banks often block large payments from donations and platform subscriptions and request additional documents. The fintech seeks to cut out the middle man and make it easier for streamers, bloggers and content creators to access their money.
Destream CEO Tachat Igityan says the new card will make it easier for users to receive and withdraw donations from online platforms.
“Banks can be conservative and don’t always understand the concept of donations, which makes it difficult for bloggers and streamers to receive payments,” Igityan adds.
The new bank card is available to pre-order and will be available to registered destream users in Q3 2022.
The destream platform launched at Gamescom 2019. It currently has more than 33,000 users and has handled donations worth more than €4 million.
