Crypto exchange CoinDCX names former Wells Fargo exec Divakar Prayaga head of information security
CoinDCX, India’s first crypto unicorn, has appointed Divakar Prayaga as senior vice president and head of information security.
Divakar was formerly head of cyber defence at e-commerce giant Flipkart and vice president of cybersecurity at Wells Fargo. He also had stints at Wipro, Unisys and UBM.
In his new role at CoinDCX, he will steer the crypto exchange’s information security strategies and governance processes, and spearhead an inclusive and comprehensive data protection programme to support development, research and administrative information systems and technology.
Divakar will also chair the Information Security Advisory Committee and lead the Information Security Liaisons team.
Launched in 2018, CoinDCX describes itself as a “pioneer in India’s crypto industry” and “the nation’s safest crypto exchange”. It works with crypto custodian Bitgo and digital verification specialist Onfido to ensure the safety of funds and user identities.
CoinDCX reached unicorn status in August 2021 with its $90 million Series C funding round led by former Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin’s B Capital.
