Morgan Stanley poaches UBS managing director Gerson
Morgan Stanley has poached UBS managing director for financial technology Stephen Gerson.
Gerson spent two and a half years in the New York offices of the Swiss investment bank, having joined from Wells Fargo Securities in April 2019.
The new Morgan Stanley employee is still listed as a UBS employee on the broker checking service provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Yet, as discovered by efinancialcareers, Gerson has updated his LinkedIn profile to reflect his new position.
A pair of other major moves have occurred for US banks in recent months.
Goldman Sachs appointed Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Kamlesh Talreja as new co-head of asset management engineering in August.
In March, JP Morgan Chase’s consumer banking CEO Thusinda Brown Duckett left to join the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA).
Arguably the highlight appointment of the year so far in the US is the arrival of Gary Gensler as new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
