Thought Machine takes Steele from AWS for US leadership role
Would-be core banking system sector disruptor, Thought Machine, has taken another step in its intended push into the US, recruiting Brad Steele as country general manager and global head of partnerships. Steele joins after a decade at AWS.
UK-based Thought Machine has a stated aim to grow its business internationally and within its last round of funding, in mid-2020, it promised hiring key roles in APAC, the US and Australia. Its search for a North American head started soon after this.
At AWS, Steele was co-founder and global leader of its Startup Business Development unit. This consisted of former entrepreneurs, start-up founders, CXOs, tech executives, and VCs. It was focused on discovering and engaging with entrepreneurs and technology start-ups to encourage them to use the AWS platform.
There are seven known takers of Thought Machine’s Vault platform to date. These include Curve, Monese, Atom Bank, SEB, Lloyds Banking Group, TransferGo, and Hong Kong-based Mox Bank.
Cracking the US market remains a work in progress. The company is currently looking for a New York-based sales director.
