Founder and CTO of Malauzai leaves Finastra
Daniel Piangerelli, co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Malauzai, has left the firm just over two years since its acquisition by Finastra.
Piangerelli helped found digital banking firm Malauzai in 2010. His firm worked in close partnership with Finastra, sharing more than 150 customers at one point.
Malauzai’s digital solution frequently appeared in a bundle with Finastra’s Fusion Phoenix core banking solution.
Finastra acquired Malauzai in June 2018. Financial details of the deal went undisclosed, though both firms called it an extension of their existing partnerships.
“Thank you Finastra leadership for taking our Malauzai under your wings and dedicating so much to seeing it succeed,” Piangerelli wrote in a message on LinkedIn.
“Thank you for your dedication to our employees and our customers [and] your commitment to strengthen and support Malauzai’s future. You delivered on your promises. The future is, indeed, open!”
Piangerelli did not mention where his next role would be.
Earlier this year another of Malauzai’s founders, Tom Shen, joined Sensibill as chairman of the board.
